Dr. Matt Paradisgarten
Dr. Matt Paradisgarten (DMD, Cert. Ortho, MsED, MDS) grew up in Thornhill. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in biology at Princeton University in 2011 and went on to receive his degree in dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015. He received his specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s of Dental Science from Rutgers University in 2018.
Dr. Matt is a dedicated and caring doctor who strives to provide the best clinical care in a warm and welcoming environment.
Happily married since 2010, Dr. Matt moved back to Ontario with his family shortly after completing his specialty training in Orthodontics. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, badminton and ping pong. He is also an avid skier and hiker. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Dr. David Shapiro
Dr. David Shapiro (DDS, MSc (ORTHO), FRCD(C)) received both his dental degree in 1998 and his master’s specialty degree in orthodontics in 2002 from the University of Toronto. Being just one of 12 annual Canadian orthodontic graduates, he is uniquely positioned to offer his patients comprehensive treatment plans and options to meet their objectives.
David is a warm and compassionate doctor, who makes every effort to be sure each and every patient is treated as if they were his own family member. After treating many thousands of patients, he still gets excited to help everyone achieve the smile they want.
He and his wife Jody have been happily married since 1995 and have two amazing daughters. Having treated his own daughters, he is an “equal opportunity orthodontist,” and persistently ensures they wear their retainers at night :)

Dr. Erick Smith
A certified specialist in Orthodontics, Dr. Eric Smith received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2011, his dental degree from the University of Connecticut in 2015 and his specialty certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Minnesota in 2017.
Dr. Smith prides himself on being both a dedicated clinician and an active researcher. He spent one year as a Research Associate and Adjunct Clinical Faculty member in the Orthodontics department at the University of Minnesota, where he taught residents and conducted clinical research. He has co-authored papers on a variety of topics, including basic scientific research, craniofacial growth and development (in press), and clinical orthodontics (under preparation). His passion for research is based on a fascination with facial growth and a desire to develop more efficient and effective ways of delivering the highest quality orthodontic care to patients.
Dr. Smith currently serves as the Vice President and Oral Health Committee Chair on the Muskoka-Simcoe Dental Society. He is an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, the Ontario Association of Orthodontists and the Ontario Dental Association. During residency, he was elected to a position on the Council of New and Younger Members of the American Association of Orthodontists and remains an active member of the organization.
